A Woman can know about Sports, you know.

   I hear this several times a year.

   "You know who he is?"
   "You know sports?"
   " LeBron James, he's this basketball player that...what? You've seen him play?"

    All of these asked in surprising fashion. As if because I'm female, I wouldn't know the difference between a basketball and a baseball. But I do know!
    In fact, I know the difference between boxing and mixed martial arts. In fact, I know most of the terms that are spouted off during those matches. I may walk out of the room when the match becomes a bit too bloody for my liking but I watch and have knowledge.
    I know who LeBron James is just like most people but also know who is the sixth man on some lesser teams. I may not know hockey but have been entertained watching it in person. I know not only who Manny Pacquaio is but also also some other fighters on the undercards.

    This does sound like I am bragging and maybe I am. I grew up in a home where my dad watched sports and was proud of teaching me the obscure rules on the sports that he watched. My current boyfriend will watch and I can sit down beside him and enjoy whatever it is he is watching. Unless it is golf. That sport is a drag.

    This is just me getting off my chest that many of us do know sports. Do we spend our off time discussing them? No, not really. But the knowledge is there.

   Milaaaaaaa!!! How long before she becomes a one-name actress? Hopefully she doesn't get overexposed and continue this great run she has had since she surprised everyone in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".
   Zooey Deschanel was second this time. She is always a favorite of many people who admire how her sense of style, her charming personality and beauty. Seems like she's at the cusp of becoming an A-list star. She does have a sitcom beginning in a few weeks called "The New Girl" which may do just that.
   Olivia Wilde was third and is having a good moment. Two movie releases in the summer in "Cowboys & Aliens" and "The Change-Up". She is quite striking in her looks and does have talent and range that she has shown on the tv show "House". She is like Megan Fox with more talent.
   Emma Watson is having a good career early and hopefully hasn't peaked with the Harry Potter films. Katy Perry is the one on this list that is the most overexposed. I have almost an obsession with her as I lover her music, even though I myself admit that when she sings live it leaves a bit to be desired. But she will always get votes in the girl crush polls because I'm not the only one feeling she plays the singer-star role well. And is gorgeous! Can't forget that! Adele is the one with talent oozing out of her pores and I would bet she will have a long career with success.
   Blake Lively? Um, she didn't get one vote. She is recognized for "Gossip Girl", dating Leonardo DiCaprio and a fabulous sense of style. But the "Green Lantern" film did nothing for her. Maybe in the future she will get a vote! :)

Kristin Wiig as Lola Bunny = Very Funny

   I heart this so bad! I heart Kristin Wiig! She has been my favorite on "Saturday Night Live" for years. Then she does "Bridesmaids" which ranges from very funny to flat out hilarious. Now she voices one of my favorite cartoon characters. I didn't recognize her right away but knew the voice sounded familiar. And she has made Lola Bunny a very funny character.

Going overboard with the Casey Anthony case

   I think these news channels (CNN, Fox) are overdoing all this coverage. I understand that her name in the news during the trial meant ratings. But it's done. It is NOT news when all they are doing is discussing WHERE Casey Anthony is residing. That doesn't matter. I feel they want to make news themselves. And if she is placed in danger by some lunatic (justified or not in his/her head) that will just be another news cycle. Especially Nancy Grace and Jane Velez Mitchell. Stop it. Stop it right now. It doesn't matter where she is living. If I'm the judge I have any news organization that decides to publish her whereabouts and give them fair warning that they will be held in contempt.
  
   Sigh. Don't mind me. I'm just pissy because I have to keep hearing about this instead of the countless other cases that can still be covered.
