Girl Crush of the Week: Freida Pinto

The beautiful and talented Freida Pinto has been making her mark in movies the last five years.  But most recently she has been in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and in "Immortals". In both her stunning looks shine through. Her L'Oreal commercials have been my favorites over the other stars that have promoted their products. That is even though I was annoyed by the photo-shopping taking away from her natural darker skin beauty.

The best celebrity smile. Is there a better one? I don't think so.

Again that million dollar smile. Of course she's "happy"! :)

Kate Winslet is this weeks' Girl Crush

I have a confession to make---I have a girl crush on Kate Winslet.
Don't you dare tell me that she is not as talented as Meryl Streep!
I admit I haven't been 100% devoted to her career. I haven't watched "The Reader", "Revolutionary Road" nor "Mildred Pierce"-yet. But those are movies I have to watch when I am in a sad-movie watching mood.
I have loved her acting since "Heavenly Creatures" and thoroughly enjoyed "Sense & Sensibility", "Titanic" and my two favorite performances of hers' in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "Little Children". I need to watch her latest movie "Contagion" also but I do not want her dying in it!
She can act her ass off and in fact in a few of her movies has shown it. I love the fact that she can be naked in a movie physically and emotionally and it's all part of the deal that makes her such an awesome actress.
What about her perfect American accent? She pulls it off fabulously.  

Girl Crush of the Week: Kat Dennings

The new television season has begun and I have found the newest star of the bunch. It only took the pilot episode of "2 Broke Girls" to hook me. Kat Dennings was funny, alternately sarcastic and witty and her voice is one I look forward to listening to for half hour a week from here on. 

Do not allow appearances to fool you. Here with her top heavy self busting out a little (a "little" she says!) she may not look 100% until you see the entire dress in the next photo.

She reminds me of other actress' with her looks, sort of a mixture. And see? That dress looks fabulous on her! Told you! She has the legs and obviously the butt to help accessorize!

Once again, she has the "accessories" to pull off this look also.  Even the black  shoes work well with this ensemble.

Dressed in black as every actress in Hollywood does for certain public events.

Yes! One more in that dress.

I feel it's a stretch comparing Kat to adorable Zooey Deschanel but here goes.

Another quick note before I end this. I absolutely loved the fact that the show written by Whitney Cummings and Michael Patrick King knows some waitress lingo. "Marrying the ketchup". That is how you mix half empty bottles into other half empty bottles and fill them up. From someone who was a waitress for a year I liked that they threw that in the pilot episode. It keeps the show genuine if you include some knowledge of what waitresses do. :)

   Milaaaaaaa!!! How long before she becomes a one-name actress? Hopefully she doesn't get overexposed and continue this great run she has had since she surprised everyone in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".
   Zooey Deschanel was second this time. She is always a favorite of many people who admire how her sense of style, her charming personality and beauty. Seems like she's at the cusp of becoming an A-list star. She does have a sitcom beginning in a few weeks called "The New Girl" which may do just that.
   Olivia Wilde was third and is having a good moment. Two movie releases in the summer in "Cowboys & Aliens" and "The Change-Up". She is quite striking in her looks and does have talent and range that she has shown on the tv show "House". She is like Megan Fox with more talent.
   Emma Watson is having a good career early and hopefully hasn't peaked with the Harry Potter films. Katy Perry is the one on this list that is the most overexposed. I have almost an obsession with her as I lover her music, even though I myself admit that when she sings live it leaves a bit to be desired. But she will always get votes in the girl crush polls because I'm not the only one feeling she plays the singer-star role well. And is gorgeous! Can't forget that! Adele is the one with talent oozing out of her pores and I would bet she will have a long career with success.
   Blake Lively? Um, she didn't get one vote. She is recognized for "Gossip Girl", dating Leonardo DiCaprio and a fabulous sense of style. But the "Green Lantern" film did nothing for her. Maybe in the future she will get a vote! :)
